Travel from Singapore to Penang by Bus
Promotions for cheap flight tickets are sure nice to have. But sometimes, you can also enjoy a cheap but comfortable journey or even luxury via bus transport.
When I last visited Malaysia last November, transport was not much of a hassle for me that I went personally to the terminal to book since the terminal was just near where I stay. A day before my travel date, I went to the bus terminal located in Golden Mile Complex at Beach Road. There are a number of different bus operators on the area. I went to booked Sri Maju at SGD39 for one-way travel that will stop at Sungai Nibong Terminal.
Sri Maju has a free mineral water drink and a blanket to sleep on. What impressed me was, they were able to meet the travel time as expected. We have our bus stops but no delays.
Though travel was a 9-hour long or more, I did not feel any uneasiness or maybe because I was just used of traveling via bus.
Upon arrival at the Sungai Nibong Terminal, my friend and I immediately booked my return ticket on the second floor of the terminal where there's a lot of bus operators you can choose from. This time I have decided to check on Five Stars coaches which costs SGD16 more expensive than Sri Maju.
The seat was just awesome. Spell L-U-X-U-R-Y. The seats are equipped with electronic snoozer that was so big, it is comparable to airlines’ business class seat. You can also enjoy your ride by either watching a movie or playing games.
For me, I would prefer for the luxury bus if I would be traveling by day because for sure, I will not get bored with the gadgets they offer. At the same time, the seats is just so comfy to sit on.

I prefer bus rides too over planes. Less carbon footprint :)
I tried the bus from SG to KL, not a very comfy experience though. But looking at this, looks like it is comfy! Will try this, maybe on a long weekend.
That is a very nice and comfortable bus. :-D
wooo! nice bus! ^^
If there's a chance, I also prefer bus over planes. Besides, I've been late too many times on my flights, it costs money. LOL! At least sa bus, it's less costly to buy another ticket and sometimes they can just re-sked your trip -- depends on company policies tho.
Looks like you had fun on that trip RD. God bless and thanks for the visit.
